Palmela International Festival of Saxophone is already entering its third edition which will take place between July’s 12th and 19th 2009. It’s organized by Palmela Regional Conservatory, ArtemSax Quartet and the Humanitarian Philarmonic Society, having João Pedro Silva as it’s artistic director.

The purpose of this festival is to divulge the saxophone through the gathering of several generations of saxophonists, presenting the best there is in a national and international level regarding Classic and Jazz streams. With the notorious successfull achievements of its two previous editions, FISP foresees itself as an unique opportunity to contribute on the training of new and better young students and music professionals, through the crossing of the learning and artistical disciplines.

FISP 09 programming offers more than thirty concerts and shows, Masterclasses, workshops, seminars, conferences, 3rd “Vitor Santos” Internation Saxophone Contest, 1st International Composition for Saxophone Contest , Largest Saxophone Orchestra for Guiness World Records and other surprises. There will be present on FISP programming some of the world more important individuals of this musical instrument , as well all the main intervenients of saxophone in our country.
